CGC Home Video Presses Play on Add-on Cleaning Services
CGC Home Video™ is thrilled to announce two new add-on cleaning services that enhance the appearance of sealed and complete in box home video collectibles. Submitters can now select either "Light Cleaning" or "Rewind Cleaning" on CGC Home Video's online submission form, and CGC Home Video's experts will maximize the potential of your home video collectibles before grading, through dependable processes that improve eye appeal.
"The benefit of professional cleaning services cannot be understated," said Paul Zamarelli, CGC Home Video Grading Finalizer. "We're thrilled to introduce this beneficial add-on service to CGC Home Video and offer collectors the chance to improve their home video collectibles' eye appeal, which is an attribute that many collectors and dealers value."
All home video collectibles that are eligible for grading by CGC Home Video are eligible for cleaning services, including sealed and complete in box submissions.
Settle in with two cleaning service options
Light Cleaning
The "Light Cleaning" service removes mild to moderate debris from a video's surface to improve clarity and freshness. It is ideal for removing light dust that can diminish the vibrancy of sealed home video collectibles. Light cleaning is only $10 per home video collectible (in addition to the grading fee).
Rewind Cleaning
"Rewind Cleaning" is a more comprehensive cleaning service that aims to maximize a home video collectible's eye appeal by carefully removing moderate to heavy debris, sticker residue, inks and post-production stickers, including price tags. Rewind Cleaning services should be requested for home video collectibles that were heavily played, written on in marker or otherwise blemished through heavy use. Rewind Cleaning is $40 per home video collectible (in addition to the grading fee).
Additional information about sticker removal
CGC Home Video understands that stickers are sometimes used to identify variants of home video collectibles, such as release variants. Additionally, some stickers were added to home video collectibles during the production process and are crucial to a home video's identification when grading. Because of this, CGC Home Video's graders will thoroughly evaluate each submission before completing either Light Cleaning or Rewind Cleaning services to ensure that only debris, blemishes and insignificant stickers are removed from a collectible.
Can I submit for cleaning without submitting for grading?
Light Cleaning and Rewind Cleaning are add-on services, which means that submitters may elect to add one of these services to their submissions when sending in a collectible to be graded by CGC Home Video. CGC Home Video will perform Light Cleaning or Rewind Cleaning separately from the grading process. CGC Home Video will not assess a home video collectible for grading while it is being cleaned. After Light Cleaning or Rewind Cleaning is complete, the submission will begin the grading process.
Will cleaning services improve my home video collectible's grade?
While CGC Home Video's cleaning services may improve the eye appeal of a home video collectible, there is no guarantee that cleaning will improve a home video collectible's grade. CGC Home Video does not guarantee that cleaning services will increase the grade of any submission.
