VHS examples of the three movies of the original Star Wars trilogy, each certified by CGC, are being offered in an ongoing sale. They are among hundreds of CGC-certified collectibles being offered in Goldin’s April Pop Culture Elite Auction, which is set to end on May 3, 2025 — just in time for May 4: Star Wars Day!
The three Star Wars videocassettes include a sealed Star Wars VHS, Fox Video (1992) graded CGC 9.9 A++ (lot 99), a sealed Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back VHS, Fox Video (1992) graded CGC 9.8 A++ (lot 97) and a sealed Star Wars: Return of the Jedi VHS, Fox Video (1992) graded CGC 9.9 A++ (lot 98). Each of the three VHS tapes are part of the 1992 Star Wars trilogy box set released by Fox Video. The original trilogy is regarded as one of the greatest and most important series of all time: the first Star Wars film had groundbreaking visuals and turned science fiction into a blockbuster genre; meanwhile, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi found similar success as sequels, with The Empire Strikes Back also being regarded as one of the greatest films of all time.
All three Star Wars videocassettes are graded CGC 9.8 or higher, with perfect seal grades, making them some of the best-graded examples currently known. They’re the perfect collectibles for any Star Wars fan!
